Tres Pistoles: Adventure Granite Bouldering Near Albuquerque
After having a great session at U-Mound, and with the weather staying nice and stable with a mini high pressure system, we decided to try and find some other boulders while in town. The Tres Pistoles area looked good, and so we began our exploration. The MP description is a little vague, and it doesn't include nearly half of the problems in the area. However, we found some fun lines, put up a ton of moderates (nothing harder then V4) and enjoyed a beautiful day of adventure bouldering. Sometimes, just getting in lots of movement over stone is the best way to pass the day - and the setting at Tres Pistoles is really perfect. Wonder around, find a line, do it, and then enjoy the spectacular view from the top.
Tres Pistoles: Tons of potential...
Tara on a new V2 - Empty Nestbelow the Pebble Block Area
Tara topping out Pebble Pincher Left V2 in the Pebble Block Area
Finishing up Pebble Pincher Right V1
The Muffet Block: Four quality lines exist up to V4 here...
The Corridor Area - several fun problems here.
All in all, we put up around 20 moderates over the course of the day at 4 different areas. There are a lot more to be had, with some very enticing looking lines.
